Bedtime snack...

Well...we took the plunge!  Archer has been exceedingly fussy while we eat, chomping and feeling as though he is missing out AND consistently waking up at 2 a.m. whether or not we ignore him for agonizing amounts of time SO we decided to put the ole wives tale to the test and give him a very small amount of rice cereal tonight.  He laughed most of the time and thought it was great, while demonstrating his "extrusion reflex" and spitting most of his two tablespoons of breast milk soup out!  Right at the end of the feeding he started to get the hang of it so we shall see what happens.  Our plan for now is to give him nightly feedings while we are eating dinner for the next two weeks-1 month and then at 5 months start giving him 2-3 feedings of cereal a day perhaps even adding oats to the mix, and then at six months starting him on fruits and veggies.  We still have not even decided if this is something we will do every night, just sort of giving it a test run.  Also, I start clinicals again this weekend overnight so if we can give Colin any help he can get with Archer at night....poor guy!

That is all for now, we will keep you updated on how this solid (not sure why it's called that..should be thickened liquid) diet goes.
